Potato and Cheese Casserole Recipe

This delicious Potato and Cheese Casserole is the ideal accompaniment to any meal. The creamy sauce and melted cheese combine to create a satisfying and comforting dish that everyone will enjoy.

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 40 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • (190 degrees C).
  • Boil potatoes for 10 minutes in salted water, or until tender; drain.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and add diced onion.
  • Cook until the onion is soft.
  • Stir in the flour, salt, and pepper until thoroughly combined.
  • Stir in the milk gradually until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove from the heat and add the sour cream.
  • Half of the sliced potatoes should be placed in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Half of the shredded cheddar cheese should be sprinkled over the potatoes.
  • Layer the remaining potatoes and cheese on top.
  • Pour the sour cream and cheese mixture over the potatoes and cheese.
  • 35–40 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted and bubbly.
